STUDENTS
KINSTON CHARTER ACADEMY (KCA) students are engaged in a variety of activities:
Student Government Association (SGA)
Students in Grade 3-8 are involved in SGA. The SGA experience parallels the American political system in that students are elected to office and are required to campaign for election. The SGA sponsors various student activities throughout the year, including academic and social events. The SGA conducts a Student Court and students that have disputes can bring their disputes before the Student Court.
National Junior Beta Club
KCA has operated a National Junior Beta
Club for the past 3 years.
Student Honor Society
KCA has operated a Student Honor Society for the past 3 years.
Scripps National Spelling Bee
KCA students participate in the national spelling bee competition each year. In 2011, a KCA student won the regional competition and when on to represent the school in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
Marching Band
KCA has a Marching Band under the leadership of Mr. Robert Knight. The band leads the schools Annual Parade of Academic Excellence each May. Students from grade 5-8 are eligible to participate in the KCA Band.
Martial Arts Club
KCA has formed a collaboration with Little Union Academy School of Martial Arts and has an award winning Martial Arts Team. Student from grades 3-8 are eligible to participate on the team.
